Anyone can stand by you when you are right, but a
Friend will stand by you even when you are wrong...
A simple friend identifies himself when he calls.
A real friend doesn't have to.
A simple friend opens a conversation with a full news bulletin on his life.
A real friend says, "What's new with you?"
A simple friend thinks the problems you whine about are recent.
A real friend says, "You've been whining about the same thing for 14 years.
Get off your duff and do something about it."
A simple friend has never seen you cry.
A real friend has shoulders soggy from your tears.
A simple friend doesn't know your parents' first names.
A real friend has their phone numbers in his address book.
A simple friend brings a bottle of wine to your party.
A real friend comes early to help you cook and stays late to help you clean.
A simple friend hates it when you call after he has gone to bed.
A real friend asks you why you took so long to call.
A simple friend seeks to talk with you about your problems.
A real friend seeks to help you with your problems.
A simple friend, when visiting, acts like a guest
A real friend opens your refrigerator and helps himself.
A simple friend thinks the friendship is over when you have an argument.
A real friend knows that it's not a friendship until after you've had a fight.
A simple friend expects you to always be there for them.
A real friend expects to always be there for you!

Would like to think that all the friends I've made at BigBlog and you know who you are... are my real friends.......... another definition would be....... when no matter how long its been since you spoke ...... when you meet up again it's as though that time didn't happen..... and it was just last week when you were chatting........ That's how I view all of you........ hope you do too!!
Anyway suffice it to say....... this is my way of an apology for not being around more often.
I have the fullest of intentions to do so......... but honestly time just disappears...... and also naughty blog/pond....... make it so long winded...... to write something....... you sort of put it off........

Well........ I did it again.............

Well I did it again.............. dropped off the radar screen.......... honestly don't know about everyone else.......... but it's been an extraordinary time of doing ordinary things.......... you know just living and getting on with stuff.......... time does just disappears............ and I don't think its because I'm over ambitious about what I need to do and do........... infact on the contrary........ I sort of go with the flow......... and think well there's always tomorrow.......... maybe that's it.......... need to have a list and check things off .......... but been doing that all my life......... and don't need that now.......... ah! well.......... c'est la vie........... or c'est la guerre!! whatever the case maybe........
Hope you all had a lovely Christmas and New Year breaks........... we had a quietish one......... but very pleasant.......... gone are those days of rush.......... always managed to get a cold or something because I had burnt the candle at both ends.......... not now......... no way Jose!!
But we had some lovely news last weekend........... The arrival of a new grandchild ....... pictures below........... she was born at 8.45pm on Thursday 24th Jan............. and although I haven't seen her yet........... her pictures speak reams......... mother, father and child all doing well!! (got to remember the Dad's........ he was actually invited to cut the cord!) and guess what a couple of weeks ago I was asked if I would be Godmother....... apparently a custom over there............. so I am over the moon................ Oh! her name is Lise........ pronounced Lisa.....
Promise I will try my bestest to keep up with my blog more often...........

Sanctuary of Silence
I revel in silence
Where no words are spoken.
A place to be whole
Not fragmented or broken.
For when I am silent
There is rest for my mind.
And such peace, that only
Those who are quiet can find.
It's a language so soft
And yet so clear.
That only those willing
To listen can hear.
A place where fantasy
And reality meet
And burdens from the past
Would not dare to compete.
A place where I can
Be focused and free
Yes .. A place to finally
Find the real me.
There is such a place
With no tremors of violence
This place that I speak of
Is my Sanctuary of Silence.

Last night, my friend and I were sitting in the living room and I said to her,
"I never want to live in a vegetative state, dependent on some machine and fluids from a bottle.If that ever happens, just pull the plug."
So she got up, unplugged the TV, and threw out my wine.
She's such a bitch....

Living in "want"...........

Living In 'Want'
"I WANT to be happy," is an often repeated phrase.
People who say it, get exactly what they're asking for. They live in the 'want' of happiness.
Wanting a million dollars won't put money in your bank account. Wanting a Porsche won't turn your Neon into a lean mean driving machine. Wanting to be a bird won't give you wings or get you off the ground. The more you 'want' those things, the more 'want' you get. It comes in extraordinary amounts and becomes a physical ache, when you want something 'really bad'.
Instead of curling yourself into a tight little ball and remaining clutched in the 'want' of happiness, open yourself up to the opportunity of receiving it.
Fill the holes in your life with the joy of being alive. Work at happiness from the inside out. Remove the weight of 'want' off your heavily burdened shoulders and make yourself available to bliss.
When you achieve inner happiness, it shows. It seeps from your eyes and rolls off your words. Your peace of heart, supported by a solid foundation, is unflappable. You see external happiness for what it really is, a precarious source of self fulfillment. Your 'want' is gone, and without it, you stand in the wake of grand possibilities.
Your eyes see the positive in what you have, instead of the negative in what you lack. Happiness starts coming at you from a multitude of directions.
Live in the 'want' of being happy, or 'be' happy.
The choice is completely up to you.
